College life is a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity that opens a new window to foster and learn new skills and shape one’s personality through several programs – both curricular and co-curricular. So, it has been our endeavor to provide students the exposure they need to keep the students at pace with the world right from its inception when Prof. Hari Om Agrawal led the department followed by Prof. Tek Chand Bhalla. Entrepreneurship is an ever-changing landscape that has evolved over time and, like every other notion in the world, has had its own journey, with its ups and downs, good and bad points, but most significantly, the customer attitude is what distinguishes a brand. The Biotechnology Incubation Centre (BIC-HPU) is a new entrepreneurship development center funded by the Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The BIC-HPU was established on June 22, 2017, in the Department of Biotechnology at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.

The BIC-HPU is open to all ideas from science, humanities, management, tourism, or any other field, provided that the idea is novel, innovative, and can be converted into a profitable venture. Our goal is to strengthen the entrepreneurial skills of students and provide them with the facilities they need to become successful entrepreneurs and job generators in the future.

Our goal at Biotechnology Incubation Center is to generate responsible, intelligent, and self-assured women who will represent us well in the world, and it gives me pleasure to say these young women truly stand by it.
