Welcome to the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Himachal Pradesh University!<\/p>\n

Our department is committed to fostering a deeper understanding of national security, strategic thought, military history, and geopolitical developments that shape our world today. Situated in the serene hills of Shimla, our department offers a unique environment for academic inquiry and critical thinking on issues of defence, strategy, and international relations.
\nIn an era marked by rapidly evolving global security challenges, our objective is to prepare students to analyze complex strategic environments, engage with policy frameworks, and contribute meaningfully to national and international discourse. Through rigorous academic programs, research initiatives, seminars, and collaborations, we aim to equip our students with both theoretical knowledge and practical insights. We take pride in our interdisciplinary approach, drawing from political science, history, economics, and technology to provide a holistic perspective on defence and strategic affairs. Our faculty members are dedicated scholars and mentors who guide students in pursuing excellence in academics, research, and civil or defence services.<\/p>\n
