Objectives

The main objective of establishing centre/department in the university was to extend knowledge and other institutional resources to the community and vice-versa. The detailed objectives are listed below:

To make education relevant to real life situation.
To help enhance the quality of life –among the students/community as a whole.
To make higher education as an instrument of social transformation by disseminating numerous need-based knowledge and information to the community.
To develop the capabilities of the community by providing capacity building programmes so that personal skills are upgraded to enhance overall personality development.
To develop strong linkages/coordination with the developmental agencies of Government and Non-Government organizations to strengthen formal and non-formal education programmes.
To involve teachers and students as a institutional resources for community development.
To make diverse learning needs of the community more relevant by conducting and adopting action research.
To promote a meaningful and sustained rapport between the universities and the communities.
To develop a sense of responsibility and integration with the society amongst the educated.
To deepen the teacher’s knowledge through a wider exposure to real life situations.
